Legal & privacy

Queue Up License Agreement. Please read the following carefully. It is short, it is in plain English, and unlike the ones you clicked through in 1995 you can actually finish it. By using whatanimedowewatch.com ("Queue Up", "the site") you agree to the terms below. "We" means Somebody Decide, a software studio operated by RapidShift, LLC, which makes and runs the site. If you do not agree, close the window — there is no Cancel button, but the X still works.

What Queue Up is

Queue Up is a free website that compares two public AniList anime lists and helps two people pick something to watch together. It is made by Somebody Decide, a small software studio operated by RapidShift, LLC. It has no accounts and never asks for an AniList password. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by AniList, MyAnimeList, the manami-project, or any studio, publisher or streaming service.

The four rules

Public data only · no accounts · nothing about the visitor stored on a server · the method published (how it works). Everything below is the detail of those four sentences.

Privacy: what happens with your data

What you type in
Two AniList usernames (or profile links). When you press Go our server asks AniList's public API for each profile and its public anime list, and passes the trimmed result to your browser. We can only see what AniList already shows everyone; if a profile keeps its lists private, AniList returns nothing and so do we.
Your friend's data
You may enter someone else's username. Only their public list is used, for the single purpose of comparing it with yours, and it is cached only as described below. Ask before you enter a friend; anyone can opt out in AniList under Settings → Account → Privacy.
Server cache
Each AniList answer is cached on our host for 20 minutes, keyed by the username looked up (an error such as "private" for 5 minutes), so a pair reloading the page does not cost AniList a second request. A cleanup job runs every 10 minutes and deletes every cached answer older than that, so a list is never kept on our side for more than half an hour. The share-link picture for a pair (two avatars, two names, one number) is kept for up to 24 hours and deleted by the same job. Nothing is keyed by you, the visitor: no IP address, no identifier, no record of who looked up whom.
In your browser
Everything that makes the tool useful between visits lives in your browser's local storage only and never leaves your device: qu.<pair>.* (the pair's vetoes, shortlist, tonight's roll history, folded filters, window size and Mines best time — <pair> is the two AniList user ids; a bracket in progress is not saved), qu.recent (your last three pairs), qu.sound, qu.party, qu.wheel (dares or drinks), qu.adult (show adult titles), qu.eps (episodes per night). File ▸ Clear in the app or clearing site data removes them. Queue Up sets no cookies.
Usage counts
To learn which features people use we count events (page path, an event name such as "bracket", whether the browser is a phone, and the day). No IP address, user agent, cookie or identifier is stored with a count; counts cannot be linked to a person. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted at all.
Images and third parties
Cover images load in your browser straight from their hosts: AniList's CDN (s4.anilist.co) for titles on your lists and avatars, and for catalog titles the hosts the dataset points at — cdn.myanimelist.net, cdn.anime-planet.com, s4.anilist.co, media.kitsu.app, cdn.anisearch.com, raw.githubusercontent.com. Those hosts see a normal image request from your browser. The site runs on Netlify, whose edge servers keep standard request logs (including IP addresses) for a short time under Netlify's privacy policy. Streaming links go to the services AniList lists; following one leaves this site. The optional Internet Radio program streams audio directly from Radio Paradise or SomaFM, independent listener-supported stations; opening it is your choice and their policies apply.
Your rights
Because nothing is stored per person beyond a short cache keyed by public usernames, there is little to export or delete, but you can ask what is cached for a username or have it purged early — use the contact below. If you are in the EU/UK: the legal basis is legitimate interest in running the tool you asked to use; the cache is the only processing, and it expires as described above.
Children
Queue Up is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects nothing from them. AniList itself requires users to be 13 or older.

Terms of use

Queue Up is provided free, "as is" and without warranty of any kind. It may be wrong (an episode count that changed, a tag that misleads, a streaming link that expired), it may be slow, and it may go away. Use it for what it is: a way to settle "what do we watch?" faster. Don't use it to harass anyone, don't automate requests against /api/, and don't try to break it. We may change or discontinue any feature at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for anything that happens as a result of using the site, including but not limited to the outcome of a bracket.

Party mode

Party mode adds a spin-the-wheel penalty when one person overrules the other's bracket pick. The Drinks wheel is a joke for adults of legal drinking age who choose to turn it on; the app asks first, and the Dares wheel has no alcohol in it at all. Nothing on this site encourages you to drink: swap in water, know your limit, look after each other, and never drive afterwards. You are responsible for what you do at your own anime night.

Advertising and affiliate links

Queue Up carries no advertising and no affiliate links. Streaming links go straight to the services AniList lists; AniList and MyAnimeList links go to those sites. If that ever changes, this section will say so, affected links will be marked rel="sponsored" and labelled, and the ranking will stay exactly as described on the how it works page.

Attributions, licences and trademarks

List data from AniList. Lists, scores, tags, covers and streaming links for the anime on your lists come from AniList's public API under AniList's terms of use; they are fetched when you press Go and cached for at most 20 minutes — never stored or collected in bulk. Title data: anime-offline-database by the manami-project, used under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0 and the Database Contents License (DbCL) v1.0; the dataset in use is dated 2026-07-04, and our derived catalog (/catalog.json) is offered under the same licence. AniList and MyAnimeList are trademarks of their owners. Anime titles, artwork and cover images belong to their studios and publishers and are shown for identification only, loaded from the hosts named above and linked to their listings.

Queue Up's appearance is an affectionate homage to the desktop computers of 1995. It is a parody and a fan tribute, not a Microsoft product: every window, bevel, icon and cursor was drawn from scratch for this site, every sound is synthesized in your browser rather than copied from any operating system, and no Microsoft code, fonts, images or audio are included. Windows and Windows 95 are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. The little programs on the desktop (a mine-clearing game, a "defrag" animation, a dial-up tone, a screen saver) are original jokes in that style. If you are a rights holder and believe something here crosses a line, tell us and it will be fixed or removed promptly.

Radio Paradise and SomaFM are independent, listener-supported radio stations with no connection to this site; if you enjoy them, support them directly.
